From the outside, the sole supermarché in Le Bugue looks like any other big-box store, maybe a French version of Walmart. The first clue as to how it might be different is just outside, a few café tables by the entrance, locals chatting and sipping coffee, nibbling a croissant in the morning sun. Once inside, the first thing that captured our attention was the wine aisle, or rather, wine aisles. Row after row of bottles, priced so reasonably it feels like someone made a mistake.
