Pink Elephant Antiques, Livingston Illinois

Our second day driving on Route 66 through Illinois was full of giant alerts highlighted by the fantastic collection at the whimsical Pink Elephant Antiques in Livingston, Illinois. (Even though this place is technically NOT on Route 66, it’s a stone’s throw away and well worth the detour.) Scattered about on the surrounding lawn they have a giant surfer, a Harley Davidson Muffler Man, a giant tricycle, a large flying saucer, and of course a big pink elephant that looks out toward the interstate highway! We sadly didn’t have any extra time to go inside and check out the flea market, as these bikers on the Ride for the Relay had put together a breakneck schedule. We essentially had two weeks to traverse the entire country on Route 66, which in theory sounds like a lot of time, but I suppose if you stopped at every flea market, it could take a month!
