When you get to the top of Sitgreaves Pass on this oldest section of historic Arizona Route 66, you have to park the car and stop for a moment to appreciate the view in each direction: in this case looking east. What a marvel to think people in all kinds of primitive vehicles made it all this way back in the 1930’s enduring tremendous hardships, to get to “the promised land”. If this road could talk, there would be thousands of stories to tell.
