Dairy Queen, Williams, Arizona

The drive on Route 66 from Flagstaff to Williams, Arizona is stunning as you climb to higher elevations and are surrounded by tall Ponderosa pine trees. It’s worth taking an extra day at least if you can to visit the Grand Canyon, just up the road from Williams. They also have a train that can transport you in one hour from this cute little Western town to the canyon and avoid the parking challenges in the over crowded lots there!

Once again, I recommend getting out and walking around the town to take in all the fun shops and of course for lots of great photo opportunities! Williams still hosts a Dairy Queen with one of the historic original signs! So much classier than their “modernized” and sanitized versions. I painted this iconic sign so we can remember it forever!
