08 Oct Texas Panhandle Landscape
It’s no wonder people were actually happy when Interstate 40 was built to replace Route 66 through this section of the Texas Panhandle. We had a lot of ground to cover to get from Oklahoma City to Amarillo in one day, so we were able to make good tracks along this desolate, flat territory. Aside from the many miles of grain fields, it appears the biggest industry is electric power generated by windmills! This was a common site on this part of our roadside adventure.
