08 Oct Texas Panhandle Landscape
We had 400 miles to travel between Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas, across the narrow northern Texas Panhandle. Much of this landscape is completely flat with little to distinguish it other than the occasional grain elevator or farm with a windmill. (It sure would be lonely living out here!) Petal to the metal on I-44 across this stretch of the country, as Route 66 itself is more of a frontage road which would take much more time. For what? No roadside attractions in this neck of the woods.
