10 Oct Sally Carrera from the movie “Cars”
Incredibly, I had picked up this toy car (Sally Carrera from the movie “Cars”) at a funky antique shop on our second day in Illinois and had proudly displayed it as my dashboard mascot on our entire Route 66 trip. When we dined at the Rock Cafe in Stroud, Oklahoma and met Dawn Welsh, the owner, I discovered that SHE is actually Sally Carrera! Wow! I never dreamed I would meet a real person that this sweet and powerful little character was based on. I still have this precious icon from my trip featured prominently in my art studio.
Am I the only one in the universe that has one or two personal icons that represent their journey through time and space? Who knew that Sally would be one of those things for me?
