06 Jan Mother and Child
In Mumbai we were blessed to have a wonderful guide named Hemali Talsania. We only had two days to see the high-lights of the city. On our second day, we visited Ban Ganga in Malabar Hill. This large rectangular man-made “lake” is nestled at the bottom of a series of cement steps that reach all the way around. Water from the Ganges River flows in from an underground stream, thus it has been a sacred place for Hindus for centuries. There are twenty ancient Hindu temples scattered around the streets surrounding the lake and as we walked the circumference I was able to appreciate the simple beauty of each one. This lovely mother and child were admiring the view and I was lucky enough to capture this beautiful baby as she turned around to look at me.
