19 Apr Lost in Idaho
Some of my favorite photographs are images I’ve taken in the past and rediscovered. That was definitely the case when I ran across this image from our travels in Idaho in the 1980’s. I had no memory of taking this exact photo, but I could clearly identify the glorious Sawtooth Mountains in the background, so knew it was Idaho and not Utah or Montana. I have such a fascination with the style of signage used in the 1950’s when they put giant letters on top of the buildings! In this case, simply the word “Motel”! The abandoned truck and the run down look of the place are certainly a common sight driving all throughout the western plains states.
