17 Sep Gas Prices September 2014, Mohave Desert, California
When we woke up in Barstow on our second-to-the-last-day on Route 66 it was 120 degrees and we still had a large section of The Mohave Desert to cross. Gas prices had been climbing steadily that year, but after we crossed the border into California, we stopped for gas and wowie – this may have been an all time high!
