A big part of my process and growth as an artist has been in the visual conversations I’ve had with myself, via visual journaling. For most of my adult life, I’ve cut out and saved images and words that moved me and glued them in sketchbooks, often accompanied by writing about my life. I’m fascinated by what emerges on a page, when the thinking process is put on hold and something deeper, beyond language, can emerge.
All of these collages were created in a 9”x12” journal with double page spreads. In 2012, I had them all professionally scanned by Woodstock Graphic Studio and made into Archival Digital Prints (aka “giclee” prints). That year I created an exhibit called “Vision Quest, From Dreams to Reality Through Collage” which was displayed at several local galleries.
