Galena, Kansas is a tiny one-horse town located on Route 66 as it cuts through a short 13 mile stretch in the corner of the state! It’s a quaint little town with a number of restored buildings (and a lot of empty lots where there used to be buildings). If you loved the Disney movie Cars, you’ll find lots to love in Galena as it was the inspiration for the fictional community of Radiator Springs in the film. As is so true with small towns along the entire route, you’ll see a great selection of vintage cars and trucks scattered around the main street. Chances are a lot of them don’t move, but are parked strategically to add local color to the charming old buildings, and hey – who doesn’t love to look at these classic beauties?
