04 Oct Adrian, Texas, the midpoint of Route 66
Adrian, Texas is the tiny little town that represents the geographical midpoint of Route 66 across America. You can bet your britches that they want you to stop and take some pictures right here at this bench which is set up as a “photo booth”! I was particularly amazed to think that we’ve traveled so far for what seems like so many days (in an air-conditioned car) and we’re only half way to California! I can’t imagine what it would have been like for those traveling during the Dust Bowl or the Depression who were traveling in vehicles that had nothing close to the luxury we did. We were tired and let’s face it, all we’ve done is sit in a car for a week!
